A very tiny bit of creating going on.....

Well hello friends! I don't know about you but I'm finding it hard to get back into the "swing" of things after a mostly relaxing Christmas!

I am, however, so smitten with this immaculate heart of Mary image that I have all sorts of ideas floating about in my head for it.....and since I'm being lazy around the house recovering from a cold I think I'll just go ahead and make those ideas happen.

I've listed this in my shop but will be making a few other items with this image since I only have one more of these large fluted tins.......
I do hope you all had a restful and fun Christmas! My dh surprised me with a new MacBook Pro computer that I can't wait to start using....he does spoil me so!
In the meantime I'm looking desperately for some new and beautiful decorating books to peruse but so far no luck...what's up with that? I didn't care for Sibella's latest (blasphemy, I know!) but it seemed to be all just photos and not enough content for me.
So I await the new Stampington magazines that are due in a couple of days with my fingers crossed.
In the meantime, if you know of any great new books that are out please let me know! I'm needing one desperately.....

Our holiday home...........

our decorated tree....for now

love my glitter ornaments

the most special of all, our nativity

religious statues and books

the family room mantle is all about snowmen and women

over my kitchen window

over my stove

a comfy chair in our living room

foyer decor

family room mirror......

I know these photos aren't the best.....it's night and I had to use a flash.....even in the daytime it's hard to get a decent photo inside our home! We decorated our tree tonight and are so looking forward to a wonderful holiday.
I hope you all are doing well, take care and give hugs!

I bought this for myself......

I'm a big fan of this artist......have been since college (just the other day.....:)
I remember one year discovering a beautiful calendar by this artist.....it had all these beautiful paper cuts as if you were looking through a window to a scene on the other side.
I haven't had one of his calendar's in years so I thought it was high time I did!
My dear departed Mom was a huge fan of his as well and when she passed a few years ago I got two books of his art that used to belong to her......my Mom was 100% Swedish and proud of that!

I've been a bit under the weather lately so haven't accomplished a ton, just working on my shop and trying to take it easy.
Hope you're all well and taking some time for yourselves.

Til next time.....

My before and after wallpaper box....finally

Remember this "beauty" that I found at Goodwill?

I used my favorite wallpaper, sanded it down, then attached a...

very cool old victorian children's block with the word "vintage"

I love how the top looked after I ripped off the fabric topping, couldn't have planned that one better!

The inside is still a bit of a mystery to me because the glue that someone used on this is so hard and thick it's hard to remove.

This is a portion of the top after I took off the trim that was there before........perfect!

I didn't have a replacement knob so I simply covered the one that was already on there with a piece of old wallpaper....what else?!

I do hope you all had a wonderful and relaxing Thanksgiving. We had family come down and it was perfect! I look forward to the coming season and simplicity is my word going forward.....what's yours?

Such pretty pretties and just plain cool stuff~~~~~

prettiest ribbon packaging

cute and complete child's card game

lover-ly candy box

entire box of party cards

pretty half doll for your artwork (maybe an angel?)

gorgeous hanky with "Mother" on it

beautiful boudoir hanger

And that's not even all of what I found today!
I'm working hard at keeping my shop stocked up for the upcoming season and I do hope it's a great one.
We're hosting Thanksgiving this year so I'm preparing for that as well as trying to keep the store stocked. The flea today helped me out a lot so I can list a few things every few days until Thanksgiving is over and then devote some more time to it.
I hope you're all getting ready for the holidays and enjoying it.
Remember, no stress this year! I'm making as many gifts as I can and not worrying about it.......hope you do the same...;).
Take care friends!!!!!!

Refreshing my shop..........

It's pretty much a constant thing this being a shop owner, I don't care whether you have a B&M store or a virtual store....lot's of work! I got inspired by this angel head on the graphics fairy website (the best for free and wonderful graphics!) so I decided to make this scripture card angel.....she'll be listed soon.

as will these super cute vintage and glittery bells with  their awesome box.

I was thrilled to find another awesome demi john.....is there anything cooler?

And this amazing brass safety pin basket blew me away! Oh my goodness, the amount of work involved in making this I can't even imagine!

And this beauty stole my heart....she would look perfect surrounded by some vintage ornaments...maybe pink and cream?
Well, that's all I've got right now, it's a lovely three day weekend and the weather is going to be freezing tonight.
I'm ready for it. I'm off to create some more.
Have a happy, happy weekend!

Tart tin obsessed.......

Admittedly, I think I need an intervention! I have a huge jar filled with all shapes and sizes of these vintage tart tins.....they make the most wonderful ornaments! I have several in my Etsy shop right now with more to come.....I also love using them to hold small candles around my home.
How about you? What are you obsessed with lately?

New goods and busy times

Well, another busy weekend has ended! We've hauled out all of our Halloween decor from the storage unit....time to get to work!
We always wait until the day of Halloween to decorate the outside of our house so it will be a surprise, and we have some new surprises in store this year....SPOOKY.
I did get a bit of time to shop and found some fun items also...fell in love with the cute little cookbook above, put out by Carnation in 1955.

Mini-dominos....so cute for jewelry-making.

A gorgeous leather prayer book.

Children's classic with beautiful illustrations.

The ultimate display book for the holidays!
All of these items are either in my shop now or will be before the day is over....I do hope you all have a wonderful and safe Halloween!
