So totally out of control!

That's exactly how I feel right now...anyone else?
I'm totally reorganizing my studio space to get ready for the Where Bloggers Create party and feel like I'm spinning my wheels...anyone else? Please tell me I'm not alone! I make changes, stand back and take a look, and I'm not happy with what I've done!
Start over....the bottom line is to make my studio totally functional for me, nobody else, just me. I'm the only one that's working in there, after all.
When you have so many different elements in your work: paper, jewelry, game pieces, wallpaper, ephermera, vintage flowers, office supplies, ribbons, lace, fabric, etc.....it becomes overwhelming. Time for a break tomorrow...I'll be back at it on Monday with a fresh outlook....
If not, you'll hear from me! Hope you all have a relaxing Sunday.
We have a softball playoff to attend for our dd after church, then a fun afternoon.....hopefully.....:).

Same problem here...I am supposed to be working on re-organizing my studio. But I have so many elements. It is overwhelming. Skipping the party this time..just not ready. I want it to look good but work for me too. Whew. Enjoy your break...(ha, and I ended up dragging three big boxes of stuff from garage sales today YIKES)

I'm not even joining in that event and I feel how you feel. I sat on the floor last night sorting for the hundreth time all my fabric and lace. But I need it, so I just DO IT.

I agree, when you create with all the different mediums, you simply have a lot of supplies.

I found it worked best to have paper in onen area, fabric in one area, jewelry supplies all in one area, as well. Otherwise, this office chair of mine was rolling from one end of the room to the other, constantly.

and now I'm laughing at Melanie's comment...too funny.

Your post makes me giggle! I am in the same boat. Moved the studio area to my living room in January, the last several weeks have been trying to organize (and make it more part of a living space) and moving things left and right. I have my items organized well (love the Alex drawers from Ikea) but the display is what is bothering me. I hope the organization fairy comes to both of us! :)

Me too! I just created a studio in February. I have great furniture and it looks more like the rest of our home vs. mom's collection and artwork. I'm having a hard time finding the energy and creativity to blend the two. Instead any spare time I just create at my table and leave all the pretties still hidden in the closet! lol I think my family probably likes it better this way.

Hi Girl, My Oh MY~~ I just found your blog. LOVE IT! (I'm new to actually writing a blog, but experienced at LURKING.)

I so resemble your post & all the comments. Except it is my entire house. (Think Hoarder!) I buy, buy, buy. Because I NEED it (yeah right) for crafting, or selling in my booths. My problem is I buy too many projects. Plus, I consider my crafting/creative time to be "A Reward" to me for having all of the necessary "Uck Junk" household requirements done. Like vacuuming, bathrooms, laundry, etc. done. Hence, my piles of wonderful, fabulous, project junk seem to never get created or much less the mess organized. Some still sit in the bags/boxes brought home from the garage, estate, flea market, side of the road.

I even chose my blog name "In Over Her Head, & dog~paddling as fast as she can", based on how I always seem to feel. Thanks for your post. I have saved you in my favorites and will continue to visit. Lynn

Oh how I love all of your treasures and your studio. Those old books and paper ephemera are to die for!
