Making your studio work for you, not against you.....

This is something I haven't seen in way too long, the top of my workspace in my studio. There has been a major remodel going on in here and today I'm only showing one side of my space...the rest is still a work in progress. I originally had doors underneath this counter but every time I opened them I would have to move something else out of the way....annoying. I bought this Simply Shabby Chic balloon shade at Value Village for 6.99. I had to totally deconstruct it because it was a ballon shade with all kinds of little rings and the worst were the little plastic beads lining the bottom. It also had a plain white liner so I got out my seam ripper and ripped away. I didn't want the brightness of it so I turned it around so that you see the "wrong" side of the fabric. It's so much easier now just to pull the curtain aside to get what I want.

The area under the right side is where I keep all my listed Etsy items, it makes it so much easier to know that they're all in there so nothing gets lost (yes, I have actually panicked when someone has purchased something and I can't find it...!) Not anymore....:).

Hello sweet black countertop, I've missed you so!

This is the busiest part of my room, the paper cutting area...wish I had a dollar for every paper cut I've made on this cutter.....

Glitter land...........

Some old booklets that make me happy, they'll be moving soon so I can more easily get at my supplies that will be stashed in those sweet little jewelry boxes that I bought for just that purpose.....

I even put some daphne in that sweet cup that Melanie just gave me so that my whole studio will smell sweet.....I've got to finish up a big order now that I have a space to work on, then I'll finish tidying up the rest of the space and post more pictures of the finished studio.
Thanks for looking!

I love the way you used the balloon shade - and how smart to use the 'other side' -

Wow, your work table is awesome! I love the way your studio looks. I'm so lovin' that caddy on your table. I agree, studios are always a work in progress. Just when you think you are clever and got it right......you have to change something. I'm still doing that right now.
