A new blogging friend....

I was recently engaging in one of my most favorite activities...blog hopping and discovered this wonderful blog
www.bellebrocante.typepad.com
I became engrossed and spent a loooong time reading over her past blog entries and became fascinated and actually felt like I had met a kindred spirit. Has that ever happened to you?
On one of her more recent posts she was having a giveaway.
But it wasn't your typical giveaway, it was more of a contest, so I was intrigued. She started a story, and in order to have a chance to win you needed to finish the story with whatever ending your clever mind could come up with. And, unbelievably, I won!!!
Now creative writing is not really my forte, but this story spoke to me, so without giving it too much thought (which we all know can really make things worse) I jotted down the first thing that came to my mind....and look at the bountiful goodness that came my way! To say I'm thrilled would be an understatement....

3 separate french documents with the most amazing handwriting I've seen, neat and precise, all in fountain ink of course. In the photo above you can see the remnants of a red wax seal.

Beautiful.....

Also included were 3 french post cards, all in color with backs as enchanting as the fronts...

And check out the authentic nitroglycerine vial with pills still in it...and the cute little box it came in....

And last but certainly not least, this brass laundry tag. Did I say that Alwen, who is the author of this lovely blog, loves all things french? Yes, I'm sure you've figured it out by now! She lives up in Victoria B.C., and I do hope we get to meet one of these days.
She also sells wonderful items from her blog, so pop on over there and give it a peek, you won't be disappointed!
And Alwen, from the bottom of my smitten heart, thank you!
